21Boom is a creative studio specializing in motion graphics and animation, live-action production, editorial, brand development and promotions. 

Since 1999, 21Boom has produced award-winning work for broadcast and cable television, non-traditional agencies and corporate brand marketers.  From the moment we’re engaged, our streamlined team delivers creative solutions that drive strategy and connect with audiences.  We look for the big idea and bring it to life with smart storytelling, beautiful design and expert production.

21Boom was started with a focus on broadcast design and creative strategy.  While both remain the foundation of our company, 21Boom continues to evolve its in-house resources.  We’ve built strong ties with New York’s creative community and continue to expand our talent pool across the country and around the globe.




Markus Horak is a creative professional with 20 years of industry experience. He founded 21Boom in 1999, and currently functions as President and Creative Director.

Horak started his career as an Industrial Designer, styling consumer products, commercial interiors, events and theatrical spaces. Experimentation with film and animation exposed him to the possibilities of digital design and he became an early adopter of the desktop applications that revolutionized the broadcast design industry.

His uniquely insightful and varied approach to video direction and graphic design has brought to life countless ad campaigns, network promotions and animated titles and he has been awarded international design awards for his dynamic work.

Larry Barlow is an operations expert specializing in the management of creative firms, with 20 years combined small enterprise and Fortune 500 experience.

As General Manager of 21Boom, Larry performs a variety of roles, including strategic planning, financial system oversight, marketing, production, as well as client and project management.

Previously, Larry served as General Manager of David Stark Design and Production, a leading experiential marketing agency specializing in environmental installations and corporate and private events.  He directed the daily operations of the company, whose clientele ranged from blue chip corporations to society page glitterati.

Larry started his career at Showtime Networks, where he held positions ranging from national affiliate sales and marketing, market analysis and distribution strategy to key corporate event planning.
