21Boom | February 21st, 2012 - 2:08 pm

The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That!  is one of the top rated PBS KIDS series – and is specifically geared toward Pre-K viewers.

On March 2, PBS KIDS will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with back-to-back episodes of the show, including two brand new episodes, “When I Grow Up / Doing Things Differently” and “I See Seasons.” This tent-pole event will provide momentum leading into summer programming.

To promote this Cat-themed & cat-tastic “Cat In The Hat-Athon,” 21Boom designed and produced a multi-part print and interactive campaign that includes posters, e-cards, print ads and standard, polite and rich-media expandable banners.

21Boom Delivers 2011 Presidents Cup Campaign

21Boom | September 23rd, 2011 - 12:29 pm

21Boom designed, edited and produced multiple on-air spots to promote the PGA TOUR’s 2011 Presidents Cup tournament, which will be held November 14 – 20 at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Australia.

The Presidents Cup is a biennial event comprised of a series of matches between teams representing the United States and the top ranked international players outside of The European Tour.

The tournament is rich in history, and the ability to incorporate archival footage was essential to the edit and design of the campaign.  A simple multi-frame solution incorporates both standard and high definition shots into a unified layout that both features the players and reminds viewers of key moments from the past.

21Boom Delivers Multi-Part Interactive Campaign for PBS KIDS

21Boom | August 15th, 2011 - 3:34 pm

Dinosaur Train is consistently one of the top rated series on PBS KIDS – in part, because it capitalizes on the fascination preschoolers have with both trains and dinosaurs.

The show presents an irresistible and whimsically-realistic animated world of volcanoes, jungles, oceans and swamps for young viewers to explore.  All are teaming with friendly prehistoric wildlife, and all are connected by a magical, time-traveling train.

To promote the premiere of the first Dinosaur Train movie, Dinosaur Big City, 21Boom designed and produced a multi-part interactive campaign that incorporated many aspects of the show, including its main character, Buddy, and the aforementioned magical train.

A full range of rich media, standard, static and expandable banners were delivered – all conceived as colorful, playful and exciting promotions geared toward the main focus 2-5 year old audience, as well as the secondarily targeted moms of children in that age group.

Dinosaur Train airs on PBS KIDS on August 22.

21Boom Packs Layered Story Into Short Film Title Sequence

21Boom | June 24th, 2011 - 11:51 am

For 21Boom Creative Director, Markus Horak, writing an article on the use of tactile design and the inherent qualities of found textures and patterns led to this wonderful opportunity in the form of a title design and animation project on the short film Zanesville.

An eclectic mix of plaids, herringbones, denims and faded florals – mixed with tea stained, scribbled and age vignetted papers – combined beautifully to portray the movie’s period setting and offbeat story. Over 100 textures were collected, scanned and photographed to create the illustrations that were later brought to life with subtle animation and a lively music track.

The housefly is both a reference to the story, from which the production company took its name, and the motivation for a whimsical joyride through a Route 66 style roadside restaurant and watering hole.

Zanesville is the sleepy mid-western town at the center of this film’s story about gossip, a talking fly and a bus ticket to somewhere.

Like the film, the compact 30-second open packs a big story with key credits into a very short format.

21Boom Designs Print and Rich Media Banner Campaign for PBS KIDS

21Boom | April 11th, 2011 - 9:00 am

For the launch of a new online-only property , 21Boom worked with PBS KIDS to design and produce elements of a cross-platform promotional campaign – including multiple print ads, a poster and standard Flash and rich media banners – all of which drive traffic to the PBS KIDS GO! website.

The interactive broadband program, titled Chuck Vanderchuck’s “Something Something” Explosion!, helps kids understand music and music composition by teaching basic musical concepts and performance skills through the study of popular song styles from around the world.

Chuck, the animated main character is a David-Lee-Roth-type cool dude – his imagined homemade signage and makeshift rehearsal space lighting are the inspiration for all print and banner designs.

21Boom Posts Multi-Spot Campaign for 2011 World Golf Championships

21Boom | February 13th, 2011 - 4:00 pm

21Boom is currently collaborating with PGA TOUR and Austin, TX based agency GSD&M to create a series of animated :30 television commercials for the 2011 World Golf Championships campaign.

The Championships, a series of prestigious golf events featuring the top ranked players from around the world, include the Accenture Match Play Championship, Cadillac Championship, Bridgestone Invitational and HSBC Champions tournaments.  The 2011 events take place from February through November.

“The spots were designed to call attention to the four tournaments with a world map theme that frames the action and intensity of the sport,” explains 21Boom Creative Director Markus Horak.  “We are working with GSD&M to craft the spots and to underscore the global reach of these tournaments.  A faux-Jumbotron screen pattern was added to the footage to increase the overall sense of scale and reiterate graphic elements used elsewhere in WGC branding.”

The first of the tournaments, the Accenture Match Play Championship, takes place from February 23-27 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona.

Below are board frames for one of 21Boom’s proposed directions.
